Job Description
The role involves conceptual design, component specification, system hardware design, and programming. You will manage high-level projects from concept to production, collaborating closely with other engineers and technical staff. Responsibilities also include providing engineering support to field service technicians and offering technical training at client facilities as needed. You will support existing products while working within the constraints of established methods and standards. The position may require up to 20% domestic travel, possibly international travel.
Responsibilities
- Requires the ability to apply the principles of electrical and electronic theory and related experience to design, program, and troubleshoot state-of-the-art packaging machinery.
- Develop and test new designs as needed and develop high-speed automation packaging machine projects.
- Manage projects from inception to completion.
- Ability to design complete electrical systems from concept to prototype and production.
- Knowledge to read and troubleshoot ladder logic within motion controls. Including programming of servo drives (AB).
- Must have design problem-solving skills and be able to work in a team environment.
- Travel to customer locations to assist in software or hardware repair or installations. Amount of travel approx. 20%
- Create wiring schematic, program diagrams, and complete bill of materials.
- Strong communication skills.
- Works well within a team environment but can also be self-directed when required.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in capital equipment design and service.
- 7-10 years of related high-speed automation and electrical design experience.
- Proficient in using CAD software for electrical design documentation utilizing SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD, or similar systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the design of Stepper motor, Servo, and touch screen-controlled capital equipment systems or machinery. Specific experience in the Packaging industry is a plus.
- Excellent knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC systems.
- Good organization, communication, analytical and project management skills. Good verbal and written skills utilizing office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel, up to 20%, including internationally
